Uncover the Hidden Legacy of Bentley’s: A New Research Project Launches!

Rendezvous Projects and Newham Music is delighted to announce they’ve been awarded funding by Newham Heritage Month to uncover the musical and cultural heritage of 23 Barking Road, Canning Town. The venue was once home to Bentley’s, a legendary soul music club that broke the careers of many young DJs and producers between 1982 and 1987.

Newham Heritage Month, generously funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and Royal Docks Team, is organised by Newham Council as part of Newham Unlocked. The festival will take place in June, featuring events that respond to the theme ‘Our Creative Newham: Newham’s Arts and Cultural Heritage.’
