All Roads Lead to Bentley’s launches as part of Newham Heritage Month 2023

Rendezvous Projects and Newham Music launched the results of the five month research and music project into the history of Bentley’s nightclub in Canning Town in the 1980s. The launch took place at Arch1, a music venue in Canning Town on 17 June 2023. 

As part of the project, Emma Scarr a music teacher with Newham Music had lead a six week series of workshops for two schools in Newham: two year 6 classes at St Helen’s Catholic Primary School and a year 7 at Eastlea Community School.

Each school produced a track inspired by Bentley’s history and music of the 80s. These tracks were shared with the audience at the launch. 

Following this, a Q&A took place with Linden C, Neil Charles and Mark Homer, the owner of Bentley’s. And then Linden and Neil DJ’d.
