We’re celebrating the mid-way point of our project with an event at Leyton Technical on 5 September 2019, from 7pm.

Join us and friends, and if you were part of the scene at the time and have photos, flyers and memories, do bring them along.

We’re also screening‘Legacy in the Dust: The Four Aces Story’ a film by Winstan Whitter.

A rare chance to see this film which tells the story of the Four Aces Club in Dalston ‘the London equivalent of the New York Apollo’, charting the rise of black British music; the first legal indoor rave venue (Labrynth) and the demise of heritage at the expense of gentrification.

Featuring Don Letts, Bunny ‘Striker Lee’, Ariane Forster, Junior Giscombe, Dennis Alcapone, Lloyd Coxsone, Tippa Ire, The Prodigy, Tessa Pollitt, Dennis Bovell, Billy Bunter, Trevor Saxon, Newton Dunbar, DJ Slipmat and others.
