WE: The Ex-Warner Estate in Waltham Forest presents the social history of the Warner Estate, a 19th-century and 20th-century housing estate in Walthamstow, Leyton and Woodford, north east London. The estate was originally built by Thomas Courtenay Warner and the Warner Estate Company and took the form of high-quality houses and half-houses.
The publication is a result of a three-year project funded by National Lottery and Arts Council England which included an exhibition, a walking tour app and substantial archive of oral histories and photos collected and acquired by the Local Studies Archive at Vestry House Museum, London.
The 80-page full-colour limited edition includes archive images, photography by Katherine Green, extracts from oral history interviews by Lucy Harrison, introductory passages by Kirstin Sibley and a fold-out map showing the different locations of the estate.
