Rendezvous Projects receives Lottery funding for a major new project celebrating music heritage in Newham!

We have received a major grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for a project, called Sound Waves: Music in Newham. The project aims to preserve and showcase the vibrant history of music in the London Borough of Newham since 1965 as well as creating paid opportunities for Newham residents. Additionally, we will work collaboratively with Newham Music to engage schools in exploring Newham’s musical tapestry, helping to ensure this rich cultural legacy is continued.

Activities will include: pop-up exhibitions in local libraries and digital mapping of music-related locations.

Volunteers will be engaged and receive training in oral history interviewing, archive research, and event coordination, and several new temporary roles will be created and advertised shortly. We will also be looking for partners and participants in Newham to be part of the project.

Follow us on social media or sign up to our mailing list for announcements and calls for participants.
